So Just as I said my final good-byes to London. Wake up at 5:30 in the am and take the bus to the train to Gatwick. Waiting for my plane and the airport shuts down. I love how not even an entire foot of snow stopped London in its tracks. Well had change my flight from Madrid back to London since I couldn't get a Flight to Madrid until Thursday... So stayed in London. I was excited, but I knew many of my friends were headed back to the states... well so I thought. Actually almost everyone didn't make it out. So we all stayed.... slowly departing. Some Tuesday, some Wednesday, Thursday, and me on Friday.
This concludes My London Travels... for now. I'll be back Londres. I promise

The 'Final' London Post
Always behind on these things.... But HERE it is... the LONGEST POST EVER!!! catching you up on the final month of my semester in London.
[Week 1: Nov 15th-21st]
Monday: Censored! I love my instructor for that class, she's so nice.
Tuesday: Hunterian Museum. Let me just say. I LOVE this museum. It's full of this anatomist from the 1800's pickled animals and findings. They even have a surgeon area where they show you surgeries, one was of a heart transplant... crazy.
Wednesday: Nothing, nothing at all. Just homework.
Thursday the 18th:- Went to the BFI imax theatre to see Legend of the Guardians. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I actually really enjoyed it. Then, last minute went out with some friends to hang out near the Thames (Waterloo again) had some great conversation... then head to Th Roxy. Where I got in FOR FREE.... dope. That was a fun night.
Friday -Tried to do my paper, but was too tired from the previous night to do it. Epic Failure on my part.
Saturday: Finished my paper (pat on the back.)
Sunday: It was Sunday. I did nothing. That is all.
[Week 2]
Monday :: Wednesday was boring and filled with classes, etc...
Thursday: Thanksgiving!
I finished editing my film for class, attacked Ra-Ra (Floormates and myself) with light sabers, slept made great dinner with pie, and slept some more.
Friday: Decided to go out. Played some card games and then went to a house party in Notting Hill. An Actual HOUSE in Notting Hill. The house was out of a movie. AMAZING.
[Week 3]
First we had to take a train to Liverpool, because that's where we were flying out of. Liverpool is okay, reminds me of Pittsburg, it's a city, but it's gotta ghost town feel to it. So we left Thursday night and stayed in the the airport... watched Love Actually and then slept on the cold floor. Then it was on the plane and off to the Islands.
We were laying on the beach while we drank cervecas and had delicious sea side food. It was amazing. I LOVE gelatto, especially Mango flavored gelatto. Well, can you REALLY go wrong with mango? Uh... NO, duh. Got some relaxation in and overall was well worth it.
[Week 4 & 5]
After this I basically lots of homework. Also caught a cold. It was inevitable, my roommate has been sick for a while, so I knew it was coming. I also went to some more films, and attended some student events at ULU... But the last week was the BEST!
Saturday: Went to the Chocolate Festival and a holiday festival in Waterloo with Ra-Ra and one of the guys from the program. After that Ra-Ra and myself went on our Brixton Extravaganza. Bought some mesh tops, chickpea roti and then went to the Hootananny to check it out. Nice place, pretty cool.
Monday: Went to see a film called The Tourist for Film workshop, that was okay. Could of been better. Then relaxed for a spell and went to The Roxy, as usual.
Tuesday: Finals and hanging out with the boys
Wednesday: Film presentation and then Walkabout. Walkabout, which was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
Thursday: Finals. Then went to a pub to celebrate us all being done with school. Went back to the res hall, took a nap. Woke up. Ate. Talked to Ra-Ra for WAY TOO LONG. The we finally got ready and went to THE ROXY (of course). Now this was the FUNNIEST, MOST RIDICULOUS EPiCLY AWESOME night EVER!!! It was Epic. Love it.
Friday: I wake up later than I was suppose to and had to run to the tube. There was a presentation of the theatre kids' play. It was really well written. Then it was off to our final lunch together and then off to packing.
It's Been Real London. Until next time.... Keep It Real.

[Week 3]
-GRAN CANARIA-
Myself, the roomie, and my floormate went to the Canary Islands the first weekend of December. It was THE GREATEST!First we had to take a train to Liverpool, because that's where we were flying out of. I could be writing a paper, but I'm posting a blog instead.
So I have lots of things to do before I leave, mostly homework, sadly.
3 papers for the following:
- Censored! What Britain Couldn't See [and a presentation]
- Media & Politics
- Living and Dying in the 17th and 18th centuries
- Media & Politics
- British Youth Culture
- Film edit due Thursday
- Plan, Shoot, and edit final film
and let me just say that Instructors need to spread out work a little better. Because seriously things are piling up if you couldn't tell. But yea. Basically wrote this to distract me.
And BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!

All I do is ride the Tube: Guy Fawkes Weekend
This week was filled with constant disappointment, but that's not going to keep me down. Lets talk about some highlights (not the highlights in David Cameron's hair...hehe)
Today we will not be talking about Sunday-Tuesday kids.
Lets see... went to Drapers on Wednesday(that kinda sucked).
We will NOT be talking about Sunday-Wednesday.
Thursday
[It was only a half victory. Our presentation for British Youth Culture happened but we found out we had to write a paper to go along with our presentation... who knew (me & one other person but we didn't say anything). sn: picture above is the ep cover of our band yea!
Um..I went bowling. I WENT BOWLING. That was fun. I beat 2 people.. somebody owes me a drink now... It was awesome!]
Friday
[Went to the Tate Modern with the boys and their friend(who I kinda dislike, alot.... I'm a tough critic apparently). After that went to this great kabob place where I had THE BEST burger. Called 'garlic' sauce, cucumber sauce (but I'm correct and Brits are stupid for calling it garlic sauce). Then headed to O'neal's which was cool for a bit, but had to head back.]
Saturday
[Can I just say if it wasn't for Saturday, this would be the MOST depressing blog post ever!! Woke up, worked on a paper I feel I didn't need to work on. Then went to the Fulham vs. Villa Football game. VILLLLLLAAAAAA! Had on their colors and everything. I now officially love Villa and especially their Midfielder Ashley Young.
Guy Fawkes festival at Battersea Park was pretty awesome. Watched some wood burn, seen tons of fireworks played to music and even bought a light up saber. (yes I'm a 12 year old boy and what are you?) Played with the sabers in an epic duel, breaking the light, went and got a new one, said it just went off knowing I broke it. Then went to the Jazz Cafe in Camdentown for 80's night. good night. good night]
Sunday
[I don't think I did much. Mostly homework. So yea... uneventful.]
Also I am addicted to xkcd officially. I need a life.

Wow this Kitchen is Clean!
This week was like any other week, except it was Mid Term Break. Yus. The time where people can go on trips and such...unless of course you're broke and feel no need to visit any other place be cause you're in the best place you could possibly be..(yeah, I'm broke!).
[Went to see Man with a movie camera at the BFI Southbank.]
Tuesday
[Midterm exams, bit of shopping at ASDA aka Walmart. ]
Wednesday
[I don't entirely remember what I did... I'll re-write it when I remember... Oh YEA, I went to Proud Camden and seen some hip-rock band, it was okay (pretty lame, explains why I didn't wanna remember it.)]
Thursday
[Everyone went to Scotland, well almost everyone. Myself, Taylor, and Jennifer went to the cinema. Me & Jennifer seen Paranormal Activity 2. I was satisfied and it explained the first one.]
Friday
[myself and Taylor went to a meatloaf themed fancy dress party in Kings Cross]
Saturday
[Went to Greenwich Market, which was a bust because the ride there sucked. Had some Chinese food, super good and cheap! Then Later that night after much discussion went to Silver Bullet for a Voodoo Haiti Relief party, kinda weird, but fun. Ride back was not so much fun. Took 2 hours to get home on the night bus because the N19 was not running properly and I bought McD's again:( Need to get it together, where's a Falafal wrap when you need it.]
Sunday
[Went to the Diwali festival in Trafalgar Square with Jessie and met some of his friends from NYU, ate at a the Four Seasons in China town, and had some down time before everyone came back from Scotland]
Had a pretty good week and an even better weekend, until next post...
Wooly Booly - The Chipmunks... don't know why but yea... here it is.

[says the chick that wants to be his side kick]
If you wanna watch it, if you haven't already, do so. It's worth looking at, at least once. Then don't ever look at it again. Or talk about it.

7 slides
So it's the week before midterms, so it's basically midterms. Had a paper due on Monday, that I finished 4 hours before class [classic]. Tuesday was prep for midterms for the following week. Then I actually did things this Wednesday. I washed clothes, went grocery shopping, and hit up the Union, and watched a film for class. I was on the move. Also it was Spirit Day for the four suicides that recently happened back in the states due to homophobia. So I was purpled out with my purple sweatshirt and sneakers.
Thursday we went on a field trip for British Youth Culture. So I woke up late, left late, and the Piccadilly line had delays and oddly I made it to my destination on time. So we walked around Soho, it was very interesting. I had been to most stuff before, but we passed my favourite music store and seen where Jimi Hendrix lived!!!! [I love Jimi Hendrix, only reason why I would live in the 70's is that man.] Very eventful. Ran into a guy that was offering tickets to a free screening of a new film and found Wardour Street. Officially myself and Stacy's favourite street. We're gonna try and get some film jobs. Then had to take the tube back to the centre to finish my presentation for film workshop. [went out instead, as usual] The powerpoint had a total of seven slides, two of which were title pages. So 5 slides for a 25 minute presentation. Don't know how I did it, but I did and I think I did a great job.

[It's official everyone, I have a bad case of SENIORITIS]
But all work and no play makes Brandy a dull girl, so I did a bit of going out. On Wednesday we went to the King's College's Union [lots of 's] for some cheap drinks and some fun with the IES clan. Then went to the Walkabout to chill with the Australasians. It's official Australasians know how to party. I'm going to Australia one of these days. Only thing that stunk was the ride home, took FOREVER!

I don't have many pictures because I'm actually having fun where I am.
Well pretty busy week. Classes as usual. I had a good Wednesday night. Went out on a date with a guy from Germany on brick lane. Went to Prim Bahti Curry House. It was nice, enjoyed myself. Said goodbye and went with the roomie(Taylor!) to Queen Mary's student Union. Was introduced to snakebite [Cider, Beer, and Blackcurrent Juice]. Love it. Hung out with some cool Queen Mary kids and didn't make it home and wore the same outfit 2 days in a row.
On Thursday went to the O2 in Brixton (favorite place in London) to see MF Doom with Matt. Got there around 10pm, bought a beer before we went in for a pound, love it! Then went in watched the show. Went to KFC and got a snack box. Haven't been to KFC in like 2 years, that was weird. Hung out and ate food near the tube entrance. Some drunk guy came up to us and called Matt, Justin Timberlake, classic.
On Friday, instead of doing my homework, myself, Matt, Taylor, Garrett, and Dan too a wonderful trip to Greenwich. It was quite fun full of walking and site seeing. I'm glad I missed doing homework to go outside.
[Good Weekend, hopefully I have an even better one.]
[That will not happen again, I told myself, but in London who knows]

Saturday Garret, Dan, and I went to Matt's Lacrosse game. Went to a nice pub after the game, met some of the Lax boys. Then headed back to relax for a bit. Headed back out to meet Matt and the Lax boys at UCLU to the Pleasure Lounge (bahahaha). Then went to a flat party. My night ended with eating a snack box from KFC again (need to stop drunk eating with Matt).

My Girl Likes to Party All the Time & THEN SOME.
So I decided to dedicate this last week to going out. It's gonna be a boggled down week full of homework and being on task and such, so I thought I'd get all that fun out of the way now.
Monday: The Roxy in Oxford Circus
[I love the Roxy and the Roxy loves me. Great music, great people, and the bouncers are my bff's.
Tuesday: 1001 Club on Brick Lane
[Heard some bad punk bands, but it was entertaining.]
Wednesday: Moonlight in Leicester Square
[More drinks, More fun!]
Thursday: Camden: all over
[Original plan: me and the boys go to The Flower Pot for a show, but the bouncer sent one of the boys off... so we bought some beers and walked around, found a few places, ended up at The Jazz Cafe and took a long bus ride home]
Friday: The Peacock in Wandsworth & The Roxy
[Not the best night. Went to the peacock in which the music was constantly interrupted by an older guy singing and talking, had to chirp out. Then to the Roxy, kinda packed, but great music. Then some creeper would not leave us alone, had to yell at him. Then on the walk home was attacked by some drunk guy trying to slap my butt. That mixed with people complaining about the bus stop, food, and their boyfriend, I was done for the night. It had won.]
Saturday: Ministry of Sound in Newington
[Made lots of friends in the Line. Guy from Germany, Guy from Russia, A guy from France and his British Girl, and a guy named SAM!! It was a great night.]
Sunday: Residence Hall
Had to catch up on homework and sleep.
Overall: GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!

An Ode to living in a world without prejudice
Recent News regarding the LGBTQIA community has made me realize we have yet to reach the a world without prejudice. Makes me sad to know people are so prejudice and create moral panic over something so wonderful. God says to love one another and God is the only judge, then why do people who are the most religious the most judgmental? It makes me wonder.
I also realized how wonderful people are when tragedy hits. How quickly people come together to create change in their community. For that I still see the good in humanity. And I am thankful for that.
"an injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
If you haven't head about any recent stories regarding the LGBTQIA community, I have posted some below.

Why are we in London and WHERE IS SAM?
So yesterday night (Tuesday) we decided to head(my roommate, four other girls and myself) to brick lane for a free show. Well we arrived and there was no free show. But the club was pretty cool and we were on brick lane so we grabbed some grub, a drink and vibed to some music and had a good chat.
After our lovely time there we headed back to the dorms on the tube. One of the girls decides to do a flip over one of the poles and a guy starts yelling "Oh my God, it's Spiderman!!!" "Don't Move, I'm gonna take a picture"... So the two, a boy and a girl, come over and they're trashed. But they were exteremely enjoyable. We were talking about Uni(university), and where we went to school and all that good stuff. Then in the middle of the converastion the boy says "Where's Sam?" Apparently they had a friend named Sam whom they forgot about. So for throughout the rest of the conversation we hear. "Why are we in London and Where is Sam?" So finally our stop comes up and we head off, not before we have 2 intense group hugs.
It was hilarious and I'm glad a was present for that adventure. Until next time Tube...

So this weekend was pretty uneventful.
I went out to the Sports Cafe in Leicester Square on Friday. Wasn't really pop, so we tried to go to O'Neils but there was an £8 cover, ended up at McDonald's got a £2 meal, DOPE! Then headed back to the sports cafe. Paparazi was killin' me though, every 5 seconds new picture. But it was fun the second time around.
Saturday I didn't do ANYTHING. Stayed in, did some homework, tried doing some homework, watched tons of online television. Then finally went outside for a half an hour for a girl's B-day party.
Sunday was more productive. Went on a market tour at the east end, hit up this Eid celebration in Trafalgar Square, went to the National Portrait Gallery for homework. Then came back to school and did some more reading for 2 hours. Chilled, had some cake for a girl on my floor's b-day, talked to Nitra on Skype (highlight!) and then talked in the kitchen for a while and went to sleep.
I apparently have many things on the brain.
But the sun is shining, and I'm gonna prep for class in the afternoon, HOLLA!

Why would anyone want their water to sparkle?
The title is a statement my roommate said after someone asked her about the sparkling water in the fridge. It got me thinking. Basically thoughts everywhere. But finally I closed in on something. Learning. You learn something new everyday. So I came up with this list of things I learned this week.
What I Learned This Week
- The BBFC could kick the LCC's butt any day of the week.
- I should NOT go party the night before my 2 course in a row days
- But I should go out and have fun.
- I watch WAAAY too much EastEnders E20, I think I should get a hobby
- I like pickled onion chips (tight on your breath after those though)
- Finding the Pret Recruitment Center, is not as easy as they said it would be.
- London's history is basically a bloody mess (literally and metaphorically)
- The Beatles are the reason the British have a Youth Culture, or else they'd all still be walking around like American teens. (The difference between American teens and Britain teens, the British Flag)
- In the U.K. Asians are paki, indian, bangl, etc.. Orientals are chinese, japaese, etc...
- My instructor for Brit Youth Culture is also gonna be my music guru. (look up Plan B)
- I am dislike my production instructor. She needs to chill and think before she speaks.
- Tooting is not something you do with your butt, it's a place.
- My Prof Julian is the beezkneez
- Sometimes you get woken up by the ICU fight song, but you just have to roll over and go back to sleep.
- I should try harder to ignore people on the tube.
- Just because a kitchen is named after me does not give me immediate reign to take over the store.
- Keep myself busy or else I'll be sittin' up in my room, daydreamin' about you(singing) I must confess I'm a mess for you...
- Thank God that I am blessed to even be here.

No more partying before 10am class
Hello all.
How has everyone been since the last time we've talked? Well I've been just dandy. Classes started on Monday. So far so good in that department, except today was a struggle to stay awake. We all went out to Pyke pub and then Tiger Tiger club near Leicester Square. It was mad crazy, I even got to practice my British accent and someone practiced their deep south accent with me. We were both pretty terrible, but I think mine was less terrible. We sat at the pub for a bit, had a cider and some pimms and then it was finally off to Tiger Tiger. Our student assistant got us in VIP, so cold! One thing that really made my night was getting free drinks (on accident). I was getting drinks for me & the girls. I gave the bartender my card and the girls took their drinks and I started on mine while I waited for him to get back. He comes back and says the card isn't working. So I gave him my half drank drink and headed to the atm. Money was not coming out and I couldn't find the bartender or the girls, so I just went on the rest of the night. No troubles, well I hope not. Fingers Crossed. Next time we go I will be sure to have money ready. But after that more dancing, photo op and then it was off to find the night bus home, which took a half an hour I might add and it was only 5 minutes away. But we finally arrived at 2:30 in the morning. Which sucked because I had 10am class and I commute, but totally worth it. I would not do it again though.
SN: I seen someone with a red beret on today. (for Kevin)

Being Orientated
So everyone in my program arrived yesterday (wednesday). We had a small group/floor meeting. Got my oyster card, just like a go-to card. I met my roommate. She's nice so far. Enjoying her company. Also met my kitchen mates, they're all boys (oh snaps!)..lol. But they're mad cool. They bought beer (under 21..oh to be young again). It was in shrink wrap.... weird, but it was cheap so I couldn't say much. Then my roommate and myself prepared for the long napping time when this Brit lady was screaming outside of her window. Reminded me of home, belligerent drunken underclassmen yelling, the best. Then went to sleep early yesterday at like 10pm. Woke up at 3 in the AM. Super wack. Took for ever to go back to sleep.
Then had to wake up at 8:20am. It was a rough morning, but I made it through all of the being talked at. Then it was lunch. Went to an Indian restaurant, was cool except I had to ask for the bill. CAN YOU CHECK ON US PLEASE??? We also bought cheap stuff, so they were probably like, "typical bloody Americans and their depleting financial system." Some bull like that. But yea, it was delicious so I can't complain too much. Then it was back to orientation. We walked around. Went to this place called the student Union, it's a union place for all London students, super dope. Gonna join, meet some Brits (some colored folk hopefully, lots of rich white kids in my group... lots of rich kids in general). Then we did some last minute stuff for class and met the faculty. My prof for History and Media & Politics is the dopest.
SN: Get a history prof born in the 60's, chances are they will be the best thing that ever happened to your educational experience.
Finally headed back to the res hall with one of the chicks from my class. Why on our way back from the tube stop in South Kensington did we get lost. Not taking directions from her again, but that's what I get for listening to others instead of my own thoughts. We got back though, had to ask 3 people for directions. The first was an American, the second was a Spaniard, and finally we found a Brit.
SN: Chelsea, the Manhattan of London. (Nobody from NYC actually lives in Manhattan)
We finally got back, about 10 mins after we should have. Gonna hit some pubs tonight if all goes right.
But until my return, keep fist pumpin'. xoxo.
Funny Things that made me laugh so far:
-British woman yelling
-My Academic Advisor Tripping (she didn't fall so I can laugh)
-My shower water smells like peanut butter
-My profs baby cried continuously at me today. I think she hates black people...lol. (she's mixed)
-My roommate smells like salami after she drinks
-The Mr. Whippy ice cream van (not as good as Mr. frosty)
-Asking for directions and 2 of the 3 people were not from London

London - Day 2
So I'm in London officially.
Today was a beautiful London day, filled with above average temperatures and sunshine. Apparently these people don't see the sun often. So I woke up at 6am. Then finally got back to sleep and a few hours later the cleaning lady came in and then the RA came in. It was funny. Finally woke up at 1pm. Ah to sleep in again. Not for long everyone moves in tomorrow and Orientation is the following day. Did some more adventuring. Went to McDonald's, lied to a man about my age so he wouldn't stop me about some saving the world venture and now I'm in Starbucks with my yogurt and tall chai tea. Man o' man I always have to go to Starbucks to get on the internet that or stand by the window (ghetto). A tad annoying, but worth it. And soon I'll be getting free chai if I keep using my Starbucks card. Overall I'm enjoying myself. I'll have more next week I'm sure other than sleeping and Starbucks.
Until Next time,
Stay Black, because I can't find many black people...lol.

Airports and sorts
So I'm not in London quite yet, but I'm currently having a layover in Philly. 5hours and my uncle decided to go to Florida so nobody to visit. but its cool. I'll take a nap or something.
Today has sure been an adventure. I woke up and cried with my mom, played rockband with my lil brother and talked shop with the younger sister. Then took the taxi to MSP. I was unconscious through the entire ride, turned on some drizzy and was gone. Once to PHL I walked a bit trying to find my gate. finally a lady on an eletric car gave me a ride to gate a. Mad nice of her. Now I'm near my gate staring out the window. figuring out my next move. Well loves see you in London.
P.S.
why are the only black people I'm seeing here workers for the airport....just saying.
